Vinicíus S Best stop motion i ever see,I was moved from beginning to end, I regret not having watched it sooner Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Ollie C If you want to see an indie movie that is your choice it deserve 100% rating. I don’t care. I just really love this movie. Don’t want to go into details. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Bri W One of the most heartfelt and beautiful films I've ever seen in my life. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Jeff M This is undoubtedly one of the more unique and unusual animated films of recent years. It's actually stop motion animation, and it was the perfect choice as it adds to the feeling of sadness and melancholy that permeates the whole movie. This is rated PG-13 so it's certainly not for young children - some of the subject matter, particularly when the children describe the events that led up to their stay at the orphanage, is indeed probably not suitable for anyone under thirteen . The running time barely exceeds an hour so it's a quick watch. This is compelling, thought provoking animation that certainly has a lot more gravitas than I expected with such a humorous sounding title. Since it is so short, if you're thinking of letting younger children watch, I would definitely view it first just to get a handle on some of the issues involved, including suicide, alcoholism, child abuse, etc. I highly recommend it, even just because it's doubtful you'll see a movie anytime soon quite like this one! Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Bee J Beautifully made, simple yet touching, this is a heartfelt short-film that will delight and nourish the viewer. Highly recommended. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/23 Full Review Taylor L My Life as a Zucchini is one of those stories that is simple in structure to the point that you're surprised it hasn't been done before, but told with enough power to make its originality irrelevant. A coming of age story for those who were dealt a short hand, one that routinely explores both the darkness of loss while always bringing the story back around to mutual support and love. It's told from the perspective of children without being reductive or talking down to them, or using their young age as a way to write off their suffering. Picking apart details like the quick turnaround of your archetypal 'bully' character would almost feel like a disservice to the final product, which takes heavy concepts and presents them in a charming way to disarm you.
